CPB Keynote Lunch: Local Strong, Local Matters

  • Thursday - 11:45 AM - 1:00 PM
  • Landmark A-C
  • #PMDMC19

Connected to and in response to the communities they serve, public media stations are addressing local issues that have national importance. Join CPB President and CEO Pat Harrison, Milwaukee PBS General Manager Bohdan Zachary and Capital Public Radio Chief Content Officer Joe Barr for a discussion on how stations are covering tough issues across urban and rural communities, and how their work is impacting reporting on suicide and mental health. Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter Rory Linnane will introduce 19-year old Barrett Poetker and 12-year-old Alex Hart-Upendo, who are featured in a Milwaukee PBS and USA TODAY Network-Wisconsin co-production “Kids in Crisis: You're Not Alone” and are courageously sharing their stories to let others know that there is help available to young people at risk.
